Looks Scary

Finding the right time to cut!

The hay field has been ready for a while now. Unfortunately every time we want to cut the weather is hitting us with rain. It's been impossible to find three or four solid days of sunshine with no rain. The longer we wait the more weak it will become. We rely on second cutting to make it through the winter. This weather situation has become a pain in the butt. I thought we could cut yesterday the weather report showed 3 days high 70s and no rain in site. Tom hooked up the tractor to the cutter about 2 pm. By the time he made it to the hay field here can a sprinkle. Good thing he held off within 25 minutes we were in the middle of a storm. The hay would never have enough time day even with today being a beautiful day so far. We can't take the chance to bale it wet or even a little damp. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get what we need in the next couple of weeks. Not sure how other farms are faring with their fields but our looks scary right now.
